As this trip being my first mission trip ever, I had no clue what to expect. I am participating with both of my parents and my older sister. The first day working at my house site was very quiet, no one really talked and we only worked. Today was a completely different story, everyone talked, some even sang.
A memorable moment for me today was when I tried to communicate with the masons using the Spanish I have learned in my high school classes. While I may not have understood every word, I was still able to hear and understand the stories about their families and past experiences. This made today more enjoyable than yesterday. I can definitely tell that my team and the masons are feeling more comfortable working together which creates a positive and energetic work atmosphere! I am so glad I chose to come on this trip in the sense of the fulfillment I receive from the work and relationships I have established these last two days! I am looking forward to the rest of the week and to see the progress on the house we are working on.
Thank you for your prayers for our group!
