Believing you have witnessed the poorest of the poor, around the corner you discover you haven’t seen it all.
Today we visited one of our sister congregations, Karansi Lutheran Church & Nuru English Primary School and realized how grateful children living in extreme poverty are for even a cup of boiled maize & water. The faith they show in our Lord and Savior is more than humbling. The children’s singing is a gift to God and a joy to our ears.
Education is extremely important and the children understand the advantages of gaining knowledge to improve their lives. Along with our visit, we delivered 650 textbooks, and just as important 150 Bibles that will be presented to confirmation students on Sunday. One cannot explain the excitement in the children and teacher’s eyes of the gift of textbooks provided by Sheridan Lutherans children’s Noisy Offering.
Tomorrow most of the Sheridan group all leave on safari and Pastor Greg begins the long journey back to Lincoln. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as we are praying for you knowing of the winter storm in Nebraska.
