On Monday, for a brief minute, we experienced one of Creation’s most mesmerizing sights from the Sheridan parking lot: an eclipse. While the entire country was given this treat, we were ever so lucky to be in Lincoln, NE, which fell over the path of totality. For a little over a minute, we could look to the heavens and see the sun disappear; what an event to witness first hand!
Through a Thrivent Action Team, safety glasses were able to be purchased, along with food for a delicious cook-out!
At Sheridan, we had over 250 people joined together as a family of faith, witnessing this spectacular sight. We were even joined by folks from all over the country!
Not only were we able to spend time together as a congregation and neighborhood, we also were able to raise money for a great local cause. From the free-will donation for lunch, we were able to raise $656 for Lutheran Family Services!
Thanks to all who came out to celebrate the eclipse at Sheridan! Our God and Creation are truly great. Thanks be to God!
