Monumental VBS & Up In Out Camp
The third week of June at Sheridan was full of loving, growing and sharing. 275 children joined us for Monumental VBS. Alongside nearly 200 volunteers, these children experienced God’s monumental love through worship, Bible adventures, crafts and games. Through the daily Bible Points, we learned that God loves us no matter what, God is with us everywhere, God is great, God is stronger than anything, and God is surprising. Our VBS families also generously provided nearly $1,000 for our VBS offering recipient, Friendship Home.
Between the morning and afternoon sessions of VBS, middle school youth had an adventure of their own. About 40 youth participated in Up In Out Camp, in which they served Poverty Impact Network, Barnabas Community, Meals on Wheels, Tabitha Health, Food Bank of Lincoln and others. Many of these youth volunteered at one or both of the VBS sessions as well, making it a full week of sharing God’s love through their service.
Praise God for this high-energy week of all generations serving and learning. We are already looking forward to next summer!
