The Praise Team consists of many vocalists and instrumentalists that make up the team of musicians that lead worship each week. Our praise singers and band members are scheduled throughout the month and each individual plays or sings in worship about twice a month. The Praise team rehearses every Tuesday evening in the Worship Center from 6:30-7:30pm for Saturday teams, and then from 7:30 to 9pm for Sunday teams.
The Sheridan orchestra is made up of gifted individuals who have experience and training in their specific instrument. This full orchestra is comprised of: violin, cello, trumpets, trombone, tuba, flute, saxophone, etc. The orchestra plays with the Praise band in worship each month. They rehearse once a month on Tuesday evenings.
Directed by Sheridan’s Director of Worship Arts, Molly Schmit, the Celebration Choir is for all adults. Prior to performing in worship, they rehearse Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Room. The Celebration Choir sings in worship several times throughout the year. Be sure to check the Bulletin and Scroll of upcoming opportunities. They sing a wide variety of styles and participate in special events and special services.
Adult Handbell Choir
Sheridan’s handbell choir performs several times a year for seasonal and special events. This team of adults rehearses about five times prior to playing in worship and is under the direction of Gretchen Terpsma.
Youth Worship Arts
Sheridan offers many youth music and drama opportunities for middle and high school students. Some require ongoing commitments, and some are simply one time opportunities. We would love for your student to participate in any and all of the opportunities that interest them throughout the year, regardless of when they join.
