Happy & Tired Conversations
This week has been unlike any other Habitat Global Village week we have experienced thus far. We worked hand in hand, side by side, building walls and trusses throughout the week. Someone counted, and there were more than 390 trusses built, 1,169 boards screwed in for the fence, and countless nails pounded for the walls of the house. Not only were we working to build houses, but also relationships with many from all over the world. So many have the hands and hearts of true humble servants.
My Whole World
When the first homeowner shared her story with us during lunch, she made mention that we are caring for her whole world. She has a child that she loves very much, and calls her whole world. Her voice quivered as she was sharing and she expressed many thanks to the volunteers. Multumesc-thanks-for giving a week of our time, flying over here, and building hope in Romania.
Visiting Families
We were able to visit families in their current living situation. This family of four was living in a one room house with a kitchen and a small bathroom. The two children are excited to have their own space in the new house. It is great to know that many of these families will be first time homeowners and forever change the lives of their children.
Throughout the week, we shared many smiles and hugs with the Romanian families. It is easy to feel their deepest gratitude and each one of them that we met were quick to offer many multumescs (thank you). God is shining through greatest by the hands and hearts of those working and sharing in Romania this week and beyond.
Please continue to pray for these 40 families as they wait for their houses to be completed. Pray the permits come through and that the families can move into their homes sooner rather than later. God bless the people of Romania. They will forever have a place in our hearts.
