Behold Him!

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither His ear so dull that it cannot hear.
Isaiah 59:1

May I never read past this word, “Behold”! I shall always hear the angel’s myriad, and Heaven’s harmony burst in song! More than a glance, more than a notice, comes this breaking of heaven’s dawn, splitting the darkness and joining in one accord our “Joy to the World!” Here enters the resound of accolades in parade.

To know Him is having seen His salvation, and sanctification, with consecrating fullness to noon-day sun (Prov. 4:18) and in the strength of a Thessalonian finish (1 Thess. 1:5). Softly, yet boldly, solidifying no doubt, tempt or twist entering, no ill thought, no eyelid veered, no hand impure. May I walk with Him in His wisdom.

Never too short is God’s hand! Not ever, not once. Think, take, grasp, hold fast that hand held towards you, beckoning “come away with Me to the other shore…and behold.” Ever onward of feet, forward of heart and upward of praises! Take on Psalm 150! He has never left or forsaken us, nor will he ever (Heb 13:5). His ear will always incline to you (Psalm 116:2).

Don’t allow any earthly distraction, test his timing or question His precepts in His “‘good and perfect gift, always and ever without any shift or shadow” (James 1:7). Never hiding, never disguised, but coming down afresh from Heaven! May we be patient and long-suffering through trial and travail, as we await His long arm of salvation today! Reach me, hold me, draw me, rescue me!” (Psalm 18:16-17). Delight in me Lord! Show me, teach me, lead me, guide my path to Your “Behold”!

This month’s devotion is written by new Sheridan member, Connie Bliss. Connie is married to Dave and together they have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. Connie serves as the Scheduling Coordinator at Barnabas Community and got connected to Sheridan through that role.
