“Oh, what a beautiful mornin’! Oh, what a beautiful day! I got a beautiful feelin’ ev’rythin’s goin’ my way.” Rogers and Hammerstein
Isn’t that just the tune that comes to mind when you walk into the new Outreach Center? A beautiful, warm (or cool), and welcoming center just calling us to serve. To minister to our big, wonderful world with limitless opportunities to serve both locally and abroad.
On the first and third Tuesdays at 9am, all twelve months of the year, Sheridan’s Quilting Ministry is blessed with three hours of wonderful fellowship and sharing our God-given talents, creating quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
We are all grateful for this time and the lovely space we share in the Outreach Center. We continue to create our beautiful quilts and also build our friendships. We are so very grateful for Mark and all of the facilities staff for helping us settle in and for all the setup of our tables, sewing machines, quilt pieces and various supplies. When we gather we are able to get right to the task and when we are finished the area is returned to its beautiful gathering space for the next group.
The new space allows us to have all of our quilting supplies within reach. We are also able to store all the completed quilts in our storage area in the lower level— Nancy Sutton has shared: “Work smarter, not harder.” It’s true, we will be more productive with all the advantages of the Outreach Center. We will continue to reach out with our quilts to Lutheran World Relief. The quilts are not only shared abroad but also provide relief within the United States to areas suffering from disasters.
We are blessed to share this ministry and this space and as 1 Peter 4:10-11 reminds us, as believers, to use our unique gifts to serve others and steward God’s grace.
Go now to love and serve the Lord!
