A Food Bank Thank You

FoodBank-2-color-logo_2015

We cannot thank you enough for your involvement in our first-ever FaithFULL Harvest Food Drive. You have heard the stats and you have a sense of the need. It is great.
Reinforcement of the need revealed itself once again this week. Late Friday afternoon, Food Bank of Lincoln Child Hunger Coordinator Casey Milton was at the LPS Emergency Pantry. 2015_09_LPS Emergency Pantry_EmptyAs you can see, the shelves are almost bare. In part, the food you and your fellow worshipers have collected will help us put food back on those shelves.
We are grateful for the gift of community and your passion for service. You ALL have demonstrated this time and again through your support of the feeding programs at the Food Bank of Lincoln, and in some cases, at pantries hosted at your churches. Thank you.
Below you will see the pounds collected by your church. This is a near-complete report. I wanted to get the most-current information to you today so you could announce totals to your congregation if you so choose. Please also express our gratitude for their contributions.
FaithFULL Harvest_fullBinThis is a fine start to what we hope will become an annual faith-involved campaign. We acknowledge that you do a great deal to help the Food Bank of Lincoln put our mission to “alleviate hunger in Southeast Nebraska” into action. This is one more way you serve those in need. Your efforts mean a great deal to us and to the 60,350 people living in our service area who lack adequate, consistent access to nutritious food. We firmly believe working together we will fulfill our mission. That is faith in action!

Sheridan Lutheran Church members and friends donated 1,175lbs or approximately 979 meals during the FaithFULL Harvest Food Drive for the Food Bank of Lincoln.

On behalf of the entire FaithFULL Harvest committee/Food Bank of Lincoln staff, thank you. Thank you for your enthusiasm, your action, your prayers and your service.
With gratitude,
Michaella J. Kumke
Communications Director
