Abide in Me | God’s Beauty Photos

July is Abiding Month at Sheridan. Jesus tells us in John 15 that abiding in him is the best way to bear fruit. This means the scheduling of meetings and programs is minimal so staff and volunteers can take time to abide in Christ for rest and renewal. As we strive to be disciples of Jesus we want to follow his example of regular times of rest and spending time abiding in God’s presence, focusing on Him, and learning to practice the rhythm of nature. Abiding gives us concentrated time to receive power and strength from the Father, renewing our call in this world. Worship, both corporate and individual, is a priority during this time as is time in prayer and in God’s Word. We encourage everyone to be intentional in renewing their soul and spirit during July. When we start again from this place of rest, we can return with renewed creativity and energy for God’s work at Sheridan and in the community.

Abiding in God’s Beauty

Throughout the summer, take notice of any “Glory God Moments.” If you are inspired by what you see or experience, snap a photo and share it with us.

Two ways you can share your photo: Just include a little info with the photo so we know how this helped you to experience God’s beauty in new ways.
1. Email your photos to photos@sheridanlutheran.org.
2. Share the photo on social media, tag us @sheridanluthLNK and use #godsbeautyslc.

You are also invited to use your “Glorify God Enjoy God” banner from the Summer Quest family box in the photo. If you don’t have a box, extra banner materials can be picked up at the Welcome Center.
