Outdoor Worship Area & Columbarium

The Columbarium at Sheridan provides the opportunity to remain spiritually connected to this Christian community and serves as an extension of Sheridan's ministry by creating a serene place to reflect and worship. Our columbarium is a gently curved memorial wall of 467 granite-faced recesses (called niches), for the perpetual inurnment of cremated remains. Each niche can accommodate one or two urns and are identifiable with personalized, professionally-engraved granite face stones. The design of Sheridan's columbarium provides a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful place for solitary prayer and reflection. It is accessible for those who wish to gather for prayer and remembrance overlooking the pond.

Eligibility

Members of Sheridan Lutheran Church and their family members are eligible to reserve a niche. Family members include, but are not limited to, a spouse, parents, grandparents and children. Additional participation of non-members requires approval from the church Executive Committee.

Pricing

Niches are priced at $2,950. Of this amount, $250 pays for the actual cost of the niche and the remaining serves as a tax-deductible donation to Sheridan Lutheran Church. (NOTE: The purchase price may be changed by the Columbarium Committee to reflect changes in economic conditions. Prices do not include additional expenses associated with each niche, such as the cost of cremation, fees associated with opening and closing the niche, engraving the granite face stone, or the cost of personal urns.)
