Angels of God

Joseph Moses Senkondo, a third year student at Vunjo Lutheran High School, wrote in a letter to his sponsor, “I thank God for the gift that you gave me and sent to me through your friends. On that day when I saw Tom and Linda Gapp, I was so happy because I felt like an angel of God came to me through the way of people. They were so happy to us and showed their kindness. We also showed our cooperation to them.”

Sponsors are angels of God! The sponsored orphans are thankful for these angels of God who bless them with a Christian education. When an orphan has an education, they can get a job and support their families. Helping an orphan is like opening a door to a life of hope, happiness and joy.

In 2013, 180 orphans were sponsored by those angels of God. An orphan is defined when one or both parents are deceased. The $450 scholarship pays the tuition and boarding for one year at one of the fourteen schools operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, East Africa. The school year starts in January. Letters, written in English, are exchanged between sponsor and student twice a year. One hundred percent of your gift goes to the student. Smaller donations are combined to make full scholarships. You can pay in two installments, December and June.
