Building Generous Children
One of the most beautiful and important lessons we can teach our children is the joy of giving. This fall, our preschool and elementary Faith Formation students have been learning just that. Each week, as part of their spiritual journey, our children bring their offerings. This fall, their collective gifts went toward sponsoring two students in Tanzania. Through their offerings, our young people are helping provide essentials like food, education, and healthcare for their peers across the world. This is an expression of God’s love which reaches far beyond our walls.
Looking ahead, our November and December offerings for both children’s Faith Formation and Christmas programs will support Hope Village, a local project through Bridges to Hope that provides safe, affordable housing for formerly incarcerated individuals. The children will be learning about the importance of shelter, community, and compassion and how even small hands can help build something lasting.
Through these projects our children will take part in this year, our young givers are discovering that generosity isn’t about the size of the gift, but the heart behind it. Please continue to encourage and celebrate these young disciples as they grow in faith and generosity. Their giving is helping to shape the world and their hearts.
