Confirmation Small Group Leaders

Come Again

“You have how many confirmation students?!”  This is a normal response when I am sharing about the joy of our confirmation ministry here at Sheridan.  Following this response, I usually get to share that we have all of our students placed into small groups of about six or seven and every small group has two adults who walk with them during their confirmation journey.  What usually follows this comment is, “Wow.”

“Wow,” indeed.  Our confirmation ministry is as strong as it is because of adults answering God’s call to walk with these middle school students. This is no small calling.  Small group leaders listen and care.  They pray for and with the students of their small group.  They are present on Wednesday nights to gather and direct.  They go with on servant events, and often wonderful relationships develop.  And the fun surprise is that often the adults learn more than the students do.  A bonus, if you will.

Do you feel called?

As back to school thoughts start entering our minds, so does the start of another great program year. We need you. We are taking registrations for confirmation and beginning to form our new small groups.  If you are sensing God’s call upon your heart to pray for and with middle schoolers, if you are sensing God’s call upon your heart to help gather and guide and grow in your own faith, talk with me!  I might have just the thing waiting for you.
