Everest VBS-God has the power!
This last week, 335 children and 150 youth and adult volunteers, journeyed to the summit of Everest at Sheridan’s 2015 Vacation Bible School. Each morning began with an energetic and fun-filled time of music, skits and learning during Base Camp Sing & Play. Afterwards, 67 Climbing Crews (groups of 5 or 6 children and a leader) trekked to stations to continue the fun and learning.
These stations included, Imagination Station, KidVid Cinema, Glacier Games, Bible Expedition and Mountaintop Treats. During each of these stations, children learned a daily Bible point, Bible story and Bible verse in hands on and interactive ways. Each day wrapped up with everyone coming together at the Summit Celebration for more music and fun.
The mission project for the week centered around helping our brothers and sisters in Nepal who are struggling after recent earthquakes. The VBS children and their families raised over $675.00 for earthquake relief through our partners at Lutheran World Relief.
All of the learning centered around helping children learn to conquer challenges with God’s mighty power. It was a memorable week of learning that God has the power to provde, comfort, heal, forgive and love us forever! Hold on!
