Fearless: Youth Mission Trip
Please read the scripture the youth will study during their Mission Trip: Psalm 121
There’s always something different about being in nature and connecting to God. Maybe it’s because God created the mountains that connect the Earth with the heavens.
This year, the high school youth group is embarking on the 2026 Youth Mission Trip to Montana. Throughout the week we will be exploring Psalm 121 while serving God and exploring Montana’s natural beauty.
As we dive into Psalm 121, we will learn to trust the Lord to protect us from harm and that our servitude be dedicated to his creation and helping others.
There is also something magical in how the youth are transformed throughout the week through doing service. This week, the youth will be working alongside Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, Lighthouse Farms and a Native American Reservation to learn different types of service from restoration to simply caring for others.
Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp is where we will be staying the majority of the mission trip but has also asked the youth to help out with any work that needs to be done. Lighthouse Farms is a community for individuals with intellectual disabilities and the youth will get to learn more about the community by spending time and playing games with the individuals. The youth will also be working to restore a Native American Reservation. Each of the different locations will have its own type of service that the youth will learn about and what service feels like.
The presence of God isn’t just in the work that we do, but in the transformation and moments spent in God’s creation and the unique experiences. The youth will get to experience white water rafting, rock climbing and explore Glacier National Park. As we go about our day in Montana, we may stop and smell nature. Like the trees, the flowers, fresh air but also listen to the birds and the wind as they lead us to have meaningful prayers. God is truly everywhere and the youth get to see his work unfold before them as they pour out his love and kindness through their faith and God sightings this week.
Dear God,
Thank You for watching over us and sending us out into the world beyond our wildest dreams. May You help us to see your work laid out before us in our service as we pour out our faith to you. May we praise your holy name and be your disciples on this faith-filled journey; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
