Final update from El Salvador Cristo Rey Dedication
These are few notes from Jody Simeck on her mission trip to Santa Ana El Salvador. She continues to help finish the Cristo Rey Lutheran Church temple so it can be ready for the dedication this weekend.

Jody writes these brief updates about her final day in El Salvador:
I’m just lying in bed in San Salvador in the cool morning breeze listening to the doves coo and the roosters crow.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were busy and hectic. We worked until 5pm on Friday. A bunch of other people who represented other churches came in so we got to meet them. The masons and helpers worked until midnight again. It looked great on Saturday morning. Anna Maria and Raina came to the hotel and cooked for us and all of the others on the roof top-and the we had ice cream cake and danced with the band.
Saturday was super. Five of us went at 7am to help move benches and chairs. Anyway first we had a worship and then the dedication. Bishop Gomez led the service. Besides the Bishop, the mayor, and Gorge Molina, the head of El Salvador Habitat spoke. A priest, dressed in regular clothes and I think, they said was a rep. Of the Catholic Bishop, offered a few words and a prayer.
After, we went to Loves with everyone for lunch and more ceremony. Sheridan was recognized as one of five or six churches that were strong supporters of the project. Joe and Bonnie Reilly, leaders of this trip-and participants of our trip in July, were celebrities, as well they should be!!
Anyway we came to San Salvador later in the afternoon. Last night we went to the fancy street with all the food and vendors. I was pretty disappointed that we didn’t get papusas as we had been promised but after dinner we tried lots of good stuff (cooked-usually) from the up scale venders and shops!
There is SO much more to tell you as I have made many new friends on this trip.
Thank you for your prayers during my journey this week for the Cristo Rey dedication. It was a wonderful experience that I can’t wait to share with all of you.
