Youth Mission Trip Envelope Fundraiser

We close every youth group event by turning to our neighbor and saying, “Thanks for being a blessing.” It is a reminder that we are blessed by God so that we can be a blessing to others. One way we do this is through our annual Youth Mission Trip, which is a mountain-top experience filled with faith formation, group building, outdoor adventure, worship, fellowship and fun activities! Youth learn more about who they are as a child of God, where they belong in God’s Kingdom, and what purpose God is calling them towards, all while serving others in need. Just in the past few years, our group has worked on Habitat for Humanity homes, packaged thousands of meals, refurbished city parks, and worked with Lutheran Disaster Response on tornado cleanup in various cities. And it’s all been made possible because of you, with your support of the Youth Mission Trip through the Envelope Fundraiser, which began more than 10 years ago.

These experiences grow [youth] along their spiritual journey and develop life-long friends.

Just in the past five years, donations have totalled more than $70,000! These funds make it possible to offer an affordable experience and provide scholarships, and most importantly, allow us to serve people in need. Our youth always look forward to meeting and greeting people at the board in the Great Hall and to share their gratitude. When someone donates, we match them with a youth or two who write letters and postcards before and during the trip. Upon our return, we all gather for a special celebration. This summer, 48 youth and 12 caring adult leaders will be participating in our week of service in Idaho.

I am so blessed to be able to help our Sheridan youth.
What they can do is amazing.

Tom Zwiebel, Youth Mission Trip sponsor

Thank you for your generosity and support of our youth and your compassion for those in need. God is at work in this place through each of you and through our Youth Mission Trip. We can’t wait to love deeply, grow spiritually, and share abundantly this summer in Idaho!
