Haiti Mission Partnership – Facts To Know

HTF’s mission is to foster hope and sustainability with dignity.  Our vision is that ALL may have life!

In 2009, an exploratory team from Sheridan traveled to Haiti to discover the partnerships that would form through The Haitian Timoun Foundation (Haiti Children’s Foundation or HTF). What our team discovered was a place and partnership where we could make a tremendous impact with our partnership and financial contributions.

Through Sheridan’s partnership with HTF since 2009, we have service opportunities of summer internships for young adults, school sponsorships for youth, and serving in the beautiful seaside village of Jacmel through a Vacation Bible School camp.

As we partner with this wonderful organization, it is important to know why. Yes, we feel called by the Holy Spirit and here is a powerful fact as to WHY we are called to take this journey with HTF.

Since the World Bank began keeping its Most Fragile States list, Haiti has been a fixture on it.  For more than 15 years and with foci of economic participation, community engagement, education, and leadership development that foster hope and sustainability with dignity, HTF has been working to get Haiti off that list.

Through our financial donations in 2016, Sheridan was not only part of the VBS in Jacmel, but with the generosity of other partner congregations in Ohio, Texas and North Dakota, a 30 lb bag of rice was provided to each family who had a child attend camp.  More than 300 children attended VBS! That bag of rice will provide a food source for 2-3 months.  AMEN!
