Excitement, Joy & Anticipation for Haiti
Bonjou!!
As our annual vacation bible school trip approaches us I am filled with a plethora of emotions; excitement, joy and anticipation. This will be my second trip to Haiti. Last year I was blessed with the opportunity to travel with Sheridan and take part in the most life changing experience in my life to date.
I am anxious to return to reunite with my Haitian brothers, sisters and mentors. I am looking forward to learn and grown in my faith. As I reflect a year back I remember the nerves that I faced due to not knowing what to expect. I am happy to say that I am very at peace this year and very eager to return!
Prior to posting in the blog I went through my journal that I kept while in Haiti and enjoyed being able to go back and reflect on my experiences and lessons learned in Haiti. I would like to share a small piece of my journal with you:
Today we had the first day of camp. It was complete chaos, but I felt God with me today more than ever. I have realized today that I need Haiti more than Haiti needs me. This was a short realization for me that I made following our first day of camp. Haiti is filled with the most inspirational and motivational people I have ever encountered, despite the tragedies which they have faced. I would like to share a bible verse with you that has guided me through life and my travels in Haiti year after year.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Please pray for safe travels, pray for physical and emotional strength, and pray that we are able to serve in the way that God has called us to serve.
In peace,
Raeann Bronder
