Sheridan’s Call Committee (Suzan Lund, chair, Richard Becker, vice-chair, Cheryl Stubbendieck, Tom Casady, Melissa Price, Mike Wiese, Joel Synder and Pastor Greg have completed the Ministry Site Profile. This document officially begins our process of seeking pastoral candidates. Candidates who are formally looking for a new call will have access to Sheridan through this packet of information.

The hope is to interview potential candidates over the summer with the goal of assimilating a new pastor into the fold by early fall. The process of calling a new pastor is generally a slow one, as it customarily takes nine months to a year to complete. These days, when so many full-time calls are vacant among Nebraska Lutheran congregations, we know that our goal may be tough to reach. We also know that the ministry of Sheridan is very much different than other congregations, so we will need an extraordinary candidate who is talented in many aspects of parish ministry.

So, we ask for your patience and prayers on our work. Finding the right pastor in the midst of a clergy shortage will not be easy, but we continue to trust that God is up to this task.

Regarding our newly created staff position, Coordinator of Local Outreach and Missions, we have interviewed some tremendous candidates, but have been unable to fill the position. Again, thank you for your prayers as we progress through this process. If you know of a mission-minded person, please feel free to contact Pastor Greg.
