Sheridan's Children’s & Family Ministry for Grades 1-5
Sundays at 10:00am: Sunday after Labor Day - second Sunday in May
Sheridan offers education opportunities for children on Sunday mornings September through early May in the Children’s Ministry wing.
Children gather by grade in classrooms and then join the other grades to take part in a large group worship. Worship includes interactive Bible teaching and engaging songs. Children then return to their classrooms to take part in activities, such as science, games and discussion, that reinforce the Bible story.
Wednesdays at 6:30pm: September - April
Sheridan regularly offers education opportunities for children on Wednesday nights as a part of our Wednesdays @ the Well midweek event. Following a youth led 30-minute worship in the Worship Center, children attend classes as a large group for Bible learning through interactive object lessons, games, activities and discussion.
Caring Adult/Child Opportunities
In addition to weekly classes for children, Sheridan offers regular opportunities for parents/grandparents/caring adult and child to learn together.
- Faith Stepping Stone Workshops - These classes are special markers, grounded in the Bible and nurturing faith in everyday life. We discover God’s presence in seemingly ordinary happenings. Some of these markers will have recognition at the altar. There is a class specifically designed for each grade, but older children may participate in classes they may have missed in previous years.
- Family Fellowship Events - throughout the year we gather friends and families together to celebrate being part of the community growing in faith together. All families are invited to participate.

Children's Music - Worship and Music
Class offered Wednesdays during Wednesdays @ the Well
Students who attend “Worship and Music” (WAM) will focus on using their musical gifts to praise God. Students spend the first half of class learning melodies and memorizing lyrics to contemporary Christian music, much of the same music that is played during weekend worship. In the second half of class, all students are broken into teams that rotate through vocal mics, drums, percussion, bells or chimes and boomwhackers. WAM is offered on Wednesday nights, Sept.- April, from 6:30-7:30pm. During this time, WAM may lead worship on a Wednesday night or sing for worship on a Sunday morning.
