Faith Stepping Stones are special markers, grounded in the Bible and nurturing faith in everyday life. We discover God’s presence in seemingly ordinary happenings. Some of these markers will have recognition at the altar.

Each Faith Stepping Stone for children will offer an at-home option for families. If your child missed a workshop in a previous year, they are welcome to participate during this year.

All workshops through grade 5 are for parents and children together, include a take home keepsake craft as well as an invitation to complete special interactive Prayer Stations related to the topic for parents and children to do together.

Bible Memory Work

To make the connection at home, each elementary student involved in Sunday School is given the opportunity for some memory work that coordinates with that year’s Faith Stepping Stone.

As Deuteronomy 6:1-9 says, “Never forget these commands that I am giving you today. Teach them to your children. Repeat them when you are at home and when you are away, when you are resting and when you are working…Write them on the doorpost of your houses and on your gates.”

Each family involved in the Faith Stepping Stones classes is encouraged to memorize selected portions of Scripture, the Catechism as well as the Books of the Bible. Studies prove that the earlier children begin to memorize, the longer these truths and facts will stay with them.
