Sheridan at Roca & Roca Scary Farm

Enjoy an afternoon with others from Sheridan Lutheran Church at Roca.
Staff will be at the campfire starting at 3pm, but families can arrive anytime after that and stay as long as they are able.
Hot dogs, s’mores, pop and hot chocolate will be provided at the campfire. 

Children grade 5 and younger are expected to be accompanied by an adult. 
Youth, grade 6-12, are invited to experience the Scary Farm from 5-9pm. 

Register by Oct. 16 to take advantage of discounted rates.

Digital Safety Presentations

Smart Gen Society: Digital Safety

Learn practical tips for safer, healthier technology use. This engaging presentation equips children, youth, parents, caregivers, and adults with strategies to help children thrive in today’s digital world. These presentations will replace regular faith formation.
Content presented by a a trained partner of Lutheran Family Services, Smart Gen Society.

• Youth (grades 6-12) & Adults: Wed., Oct. 21; 6:30-7:30pm (this is a part of our Wednesdays @ the Well midweek event)
• Children (grades K-5) with Parents/Caring Adults: Sun., Nov. 1; 10-11am (this opportunity is for parents/caring adults and children to do together and replaces Sunday Faith Formation for these grades)

Risky ROBLOX & Online Dangers

Wed., Oct. 28; 6:30pm (this is a part of our Wednesdays @ the Well midweek event)
Learn about the risks of social media, online gaming, and other digital spaces with Investigative Sergeant Lincoln Morehouse. This class is for parents, guardians, grandparents, and all concerned adults.

Anchor Point Adult Fellowship: Music & Fellowship at Saro Taproom

Enjoy time at Saro Cider’s Taproom connecting with other younger and middle-aged adults, single or partnered. Refreshments are available for purchase. Childcare is available at Sheridan at 6pm with RSVP by Oct. 16. Led by Drew Mischnick.

Children’s Christmas Programs

Each Advent, children ages 3 years old (by July 31 preceding the Christmas programs) through grade 5 are invited to share their gifts of music and story-telling. To participate, please complete the registration below by Oct. 28.

Rehearsals begin Nov. 1 and we present the programs on Sun., Dec. 13.

First Communion

Children in grade 4 younger and youth grades 6-12 , who are ready to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, are invited to attend this class with their parents/caring adult.

Special Meeting & Annual Meeting

Come and hear about our ministry and receive an update on the financial health of the church. Vote on the candidates for Council and other elected positions and pass the 2027 budget. All are welcome to attend the meeting. These meetings will, in part, cover required changes to our Sheridan Constitution, which require a vote at two meetings.

All are welcome to attend, however, members who have been confirmed, and who have communed and made a financial contribution of record, within the last 12 months, are eligible to vote.

Trunk or Treat

Families and individuals are invited to host a decorated trunk, bring candy or prizes, and help create a fun, welcoming Halloween celebration for our community.

Veterans Day Slideshow

You may submit a favorite photo of veterans you know—yourself, your family, or your friends— (landscape preferred) for a Veteran’s Day photo montage. Either email a photo (photos@sheridanlutheran.org) or drop one off at the church office by Oct. 25.

2027 Youth Mission Trip

Youth currently in grades 8-12 are welcome! Youth mission trips are high-energy experiences filled with service, learning, faith formation, group building, outdoor adventure, worship, fellowship and tons of fun activities. We will work in partnership with Living Waters Camp, an ELCA outdoor ministry site.

All spaces have been filled. Please join the waitlist.

Holy Yoga

This restorative, relaxation and faith based style of yoga and includes scripture from Sheridan’s morning worship. Participants are invited to bring a water bottle, yoga mat and block. Extras will also be available to use in class, if needed.

Childcare is only available upon request by contacting Chloe Wolbert by the Sunday before class.

Wednesday Women’s Bible Study

You’re invite to a 7-session study of the Gospel of Luke. Through workbook study and stunning teaching videos filmed on-location in Israel, we will explore Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem and more. Come discover how Jesus, the Messiah, brought His kingdom to earth for everyone. Study book available at OneSent.

Men’s Bible Study

Join us for Men’s Bible Study every 2nd and 4th Saturday at 7:30am. Led by Wes Oestreich, this time together offers a chance to grow in faith and fellowship. All men are welcome!

Men’s Cancer Support Group

The Men’s Cancer Support Group allows men who have experienced or are experiencing cancer to share concerns, promote hope, and receive support from each other. We talk about how to help spouses, children, and others within the family who are experiencing cancer or who have lost a loved one to cancer. 

Faith Stepping Stones

Faith Stepping Stones are special markers, grounded in the Bible and nurturing faith in everyday life. Each Faith Stepping Stone will offer an at home option. If your child missed a workshop from a previous year, they are welcome to participate this year.

Children’s Faith Formation

Classes for children 3 years old by July 31 (and potty trained) – grade 5. We ask parents to register for each education opportunity they plan to participate. You can pre-register below before your first visit.

Adult Faith Formation

We’re thrilled to offer a range of adult faith formation opportunities designed to deepen your spiritual journey and foster community. Whether you’re seeking enriching Bible studies, or engaging discussion groups, there’s something for everyone. Connect with fellow participants, explore your faith more deeply, and grow spiritually this season. Check out our full lineup of classes.

Theology Roundtable

This monthly gathering is led by Phil Euler and Carol Rustad for open, welcoming conversation that helps participants grow and deepen their faith. The book currently being studied is The Scandal of the Kingdom by Dallas Willard. Open to all, you are welcome to join anytime. Please complete the online form to receive location information.

Moms of Grace

Moms of children of all ages are invited. Sheridan member, Logan Spilker leads. This group will come together to learn, pray and support each other in this important calling. We gather twice a month and we hope you’ll be there.
