November Call Committee Update

To foster greater understanding with our Nebraska Synod Office, Bishop Scott Johnson and Assistant to the Bishop, Pastor Greg Berger spent an evening at Sheridan.  They learned about our organization structure, and how the open position fits within our system.  Our “core values” were presented to them so that they are familiar with the metrics expected of each staff member.  They also spent time with our associate pastors and other staff who told their stories of coming to our staff and the frequent misconceptions of serving on a large staff.  Finally, Bishop and Pastor Berger met with our Call Committee.  They fielded questions and honestly reflected the Synod’s positive regard for our ministry.  A wonderful visit, we do not anticipate this will yield any candidates more quickly, however, it is likely to increase the Synod staff’s ability to more effectively match a candidate.
