Sheridan member featured in Omaha World Herald

I get excited when I read about someone I know in the newspaper. And I get even more excited when I read about someone I know from church in the newspaper. We’ve all joked or groaned about the newspaper being depressing and filled with nothing but bad news. This weekend’s Omaha World Herald defies that stereotype.

Pam Magdanz’s passion for life

Sheridan member, Pam Magdanz, was featured in Omaha’s paper for her passion and tireless effort in the education of children. Read the article for yourself. I smiled when I read this because I’ve experienced Pam’s radiant joy as she greeted my kids and all the children coming to Bright Lights. I am thankful that more in our community now know the beautiful soul that we’ve known at Sheridan for a long time. Pam, along with her husband, Wayne, have been active, creative, servant hearted members, especially in the drama and music ministries.

What I admire about Pam is that she is the same person no matter where she is, who she is with, or what she is doing. She shines when she sings, acts, teaches, and serves. Pam is not only a gift to the church, but she’s a gift to the world.

God has blessed all of us. God blesses us to be a blessing to both the church and the world. God loves the world because God created the world, broken and tragic though it can be. God loves the church because it is the extension of Jesus’ hands, heart, feet, and voice in the world. May God help us all discover the unique ways God has blessed each of us to be a gift in the church and the world.
