Sheridan’s New Spiritual Director

Sheridan celebrates the certification of staff member, Patty Forsberg, as a Spiritual Director through the Seeking the Spirit Within Institute of the Nebraska Synod of the ELCA on May 8, 2014.

Spiritual direction is the process of accompanying another person on a spiritual journey through face to face conversation as the director offers a listening ear and spiritual guidance. Spiritual direction is helpful if a person wants to integrate spirituality in daily life, discern and make difficult decisions, share hopes, struggles and losses, discover more ways to grow closer to God or have a guiding partner through life’s journey. In spiritual direction one is invited to reflect deeply on the experiences of daily life and grow in one’s ability to recognize God’s presence and grace.

Patty joins Pastor Eric Bostrom and Kathy Paisley as trained and certified spiritual directors at Sheridan.
