Spam Emails Reported

It has come to our attention that a handful of Sheridan families have received emails impersonating pastoral or ministry leaders affiliated with Sheridan Lutheran Church.

This is a gentle reminder that our pastoral or ministry leaders would never request you contact them urgently via email for help or funds. These emails often have an urgent, yet vague tone, in which the impersonator requests assistance or funds.

If you receive a suspicious email, make sure to verify the email address of the sender — not just the name on the account. This can be done on Gmail by hovering your mouse over the name or photo of the sender.
Our staff emails use firstinitial.lastname@sheridanlutheran.org — any other email format or suffix (e.g., gmail.com) is not connected to Sheridan Lutheran Church or its ministry leaders.

Churches and nonprofit organizations are unfortunately often targeted by these scams because of the generosity of the people involved in them. If you receive an email that you find questionable, please simply mark it as spam and block the sender.
