Tanzania Partnership Update – Mudio Lutheran Church

This blog details the recent pastoral leadership transition at Mudio Lutheran Church. Not only are we extremely proud of our Tanzania ministry partnerships, but we rejoice in the opportunity to partner together for the sake of building the Kingdom of Jesus Christ around the globe. Below is an email letter I received from Saltieli Munisi, member of Mudio Lutheran Church, detailing the recent pastoral transition at Mudio. We bid farewell to Pastor Christosia Ngowi who so faithfully served and we welcome Pastor Nixon Kowero as he begins his service. God bless the work of the greater church in the Northern Diocese of Tanzania, and our partnership together.

I am writing to inform you that Pastor Christosia Ngowi has exchanged positions with Pastor Nixon Kowero since September 1, 2016. Pastor Nixon Kowero was pastor in charge of Ngaruma Lutheran Parish in Marangu and has now been posted to Mudio Lutheran Parish. Pastor Christosia Ngowi has been posted to Ngaruma Lutheran Parish.

We will greatly miss Pastor Christosia Ngowi. However, the transfer is healthy for him and his family. For the entire period of 12.5 years he faithfully and diligently served Mudio Lutheran Parish he was not able to stay with his family. Ngaruma is not too far from his home; hence he will now be able to stay at home with his family and serve his new parish without any problem. Besides his father is [elderly] and needs close attention. Being the only child left at home Pastor Christosia will now be able to care for his father. Sadly as we are that he has left us yet for the sake of his family we thank God that He has assigned Pastor Christosia  a parish close to his home.

Pastor Nixon Kowero is not a stranger to Mudio  Lutheran Parish. For 6 years  he served a neighbouring parish which shares a geographical border with Mudio. While serving at that parish he  ministered at Mudio on a number of occasions. We therefore believe that his feet will fit well in Pastor Christosia’s shoes. We have welcomed him happily and we will give him every cooperation and support.
