TeamMates Mentoring at Sheridan
As we dig deep into the concept of “mattering” in worship, we come to understand the power of unconditional positive regard. When we just care for someone, especially a young person, with no agenda but rather to simply understand and nurture them, we see improvement in their life outcome.
TeamMates mentoring has been a community partner of Sheridan’s for nearly two decades. The primary goal of TeamMates is to assign a mentor to a child who has self-identified as wanting one. This adult is to do nothing other than simply get to know, support and uplift that child.
Founded in 1991 by Tom and Nancy Osborne, TeamMates has more than 1300 mentors in Lincoln Public Schools and thousands more beyond our district. TeamMates has one goal, to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring.
