Confirmation Leaders

We are in need of caring adults to lead Confirmation small groups. These leaders will walk with incoming 6th graders for the next three years of Confirmation programming.

Children’s Faith Formation

Become a children's ministry volunteer and share God's love with the children at Sheridan. Volunteer opportunities are available on Sunday mornings at 10am and Wednesday nights at 6:30pm.

Youth Ministries

Join Sheridan’s Middle or High School Youth Ministries as a volunteer! Mentor and encourage youth as they grow in faith. Training, resources, and a variety of volunteer opportunities are available, making it easy to find a role that fits you.

Backpack Program

For more than a decade Sheridan has partnered with the Food Bank of Lincoln’s BackPack Program to help provide food backpacks for children and their families. This program provides a weekend of meals for students in the “BackPack Club” during the school year.

Hospitality & Altar Guild

More hospitality help is needed at all worship times. If you, or you and your family, feel called to serve on a Hospitality Team (greet, usher, or serve communion), please fill out the form on our website and you will be contacted with more information.

Meal Preparation

We invite individuals and families to sign up to occasionally make and take meals to those coming home from hospitals or rehabs, ill at home or going through treatments. Some members may choose to provide items to be used in a meal delivery, an entree, bread or dessert item, as needed, or team up with another to provide a meal.

Volunteers are needed to read scripture for Sunday worship services at 8:45 or 10am.

OneSent Market

We need volunteers for Sundays from 9:15am-12:15pm at the OneSent Market! Help guests shop for cards celebrating special events, browse handcrafted items, explore faith resources, and enjoy coffee from the Lutheran World Relief Farmer’s Market. New inventory arrives quarterly, making each visit unique!

Connections Café

Enjoy a coffee beverage or fruit smoothie at Connections Café, where a portion of the proceeds and tips support our mission partners. We’re seeking volunteers to help on Sundays from 9:30am-11:15am and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45pm. Training is provided!

Hospital Visitation

Sheridan members and pastors are assigned specific day(s) to visit those hospitalized or in short term rehab. They bring the love and prayers of the church family and provide daily updates for the pastoral care team. Contact Cheri if you are interested.

Praise Team

Praise Team members needed for both Saturday and Sunday worship. If you have the gift of singing or playing an instrument, we are looking for new talent to join our praise team. Singers, if you have experience in a band setting and singing with a microphone, we are looking for both male and female vocalists to be a part of our Saturday and Sunday teams. If you play guitar, bass, drums, keys or piano, violinist, mandolin, etc., we’d love to have you lend your talents. An ability to read lead sheets and/or chord sheets is preferred. Your time commitment and playing schedule is flexible.
