Women’s Devotion: Finding Peace in the Season of Fall

May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace! Psalm 29:11
The changing of seasons from summer to fall has always been one of my favorite times of the year for many reasons. I love the beautiful colors, all things pumpkin spice, the warm apple cider on a cool day and of course, the beginning of sweatshirt season. I also see this time of year as a new beginning, a new worship season, a new beginning to a school year that is full of hope, and a time to start fresh with new routines. With all of these wonderful changes, comes the realization that sometimes I am not able to do this all alone. I have a hard time accepting this at times. As a busy mom of three, I feel the pressures to always have things done, planned, prepared, cleaned, sorted, etc., and this can become very overwhelming. It is always during these changing seasons and new beginnings that I find myself searching for God, and wanting to lean on him more. I look to Him for guidance, for understanding, and for answers. Sometimes these answers are very clear, and sometimes I find myself having to wait longer than I’d prefer. However, because I know that God wants me to lean into him, wants me to pray to him and give him my burdens, I am able to find peace and comfort. I am able to clear my mind and know that God is with me all of the time.
Dear God, be with us in this season of change. Open our hearts and eyes so that we are able to see all that you provide for us. Help us to be still, so that we are able to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, the love and comfort you provide us, and the time to witness to all the many God moments you share with us.
Amen.
