Women’s Devotion: God With Us

Throughout the summer, many of us will be traveling either near or far. If you’re like me, God may not seem to follow you on your journey. We’ve left our Sheridan campus behind, along with our usual daily routines. We may not encounter our normal cues for spiritual practices, such as praying through the day ahead while scooping out my cats’ breakfast. But God is always with us, wherever we go.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139:7-10

Lord, please, help us to remember you every day and in all places. Keep us safe in our going out and in our coming home. Thank you for the wonderful world you’ve given us to explore. Amen.

This month’s devotion was written by Koren Plummer. She is a pharmacist for CVS and enjoys helping her patients to get and stay healthy. Her housemates are her two cats, J.D. and Daphne. She grew up in Lincoln and at Sheridan. Koren currently has the pleasure of serving on a Hospitality team, on the Women’s Ministry team, the Nominating Committee, and will be traveling to Medford, Oregon with the Habitat for Humanity team at the end of July.
